MEET NATHALIE & JORGE

of Blue Magnolia Catering Co.

As a family-based catering company we take pride in creating an exceptional food experience. We aim to work with each client on customizing a menu to suit their event type, location, and guest count.

 

Each catering order is looked at individually, shopped for separately, and prepped with fresh ingredients and produce. Precision is a huge factor in our kitchen where each dish is made with creativity, confidence, and passion.

 

From sourcing produce, prepping, cooking, and finally styling – each step that our team takes is made with cleanliness and most importantly, love.

Meet Nathalie

Nathalie has always had a passion for entertaining and decor. Growing up in Destin, with her family in the restaurant and construction business, she learned quickly how to please customers and the importance of presentation. A University of Mississippi alumna, Nathalie owns a successful marketing agency apart from Blue Magnolia. 

After college, Nathalie stayed in Oxford, MS, and started The Honeycomb Group, a nonprofit based in San Antonio that she started with a high school best friend. After a year and a half, Nathalie moved to Memphis and started working at Obsidian Public Relations. At Obsidian, she learned what it took to serve high-profile clients and to create a media strategy plan that was suited to their needs. 

After working at Obsidian, she went on to work at a local magazine where she was an editorial assistant, later on, landing a position at ALSAC/St. Jude as a senior marketing specialist where she worked with corporate donors, celebrities, and major sports teams in the NFL, MBA, and MLB. 

Nathalie, a true entrepreneur spirit, always knew that she wanted to start her own business, and what better business partner than her dad, Jorge doing something they both love - creating lasting experiences while serving others. 

In her spare time, Nathalie volunteers and is still engaged with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Nathalie is an active member of her sorority alumni chapter, The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), a Delegate for the Memphis Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association (MAAPA), Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for MAAPA, and a member of Rising Tide.

Meet Jorge

Living in Destin for more than 20 years, Jorge is a lover of all things Emerald Coast. Jorge a true entrepreneur moved to Destin from New Orleans, LA in the '90s after 20 years in Corporate America to start a restaurant, Las Palmas Cafe, and Bakery in Seagrove Beach. Not knowing much about the restaurant business, but having a strong desire to break bread with others in his community, Las Palmas shortly became a recognized four-star restaurant with write-ups in Southern Living. At Las Palmas, Jorge met his mentor, a frequent regular who would frequent his restaurant for breakfast when he was in town - JB Hunt, teaching Jorge his amazing passion for ideas, business, and the love for people. 

 

Shortly after, Jorge started a painting company in the Panhandle working with the top builders and developers in the area. Now the time has come when Jorge is super excited to work with his daughter since it's something they spoke about doing for years while Nathalie was in high school. This leads us to where we are now - two successful businesses later, this dynamic duo is at it again. 

 

In his spare time, Jorge loves reading motivational books, traveling, spending time with his family, and two pups while enjoying a nice glass of wine or bourbon, snacking on a charcuterie board, and creating new business concepts with his daughter. Jorge is part owner of Lifestyles Journey and PlayIt Sports and Entertainment.

Our Boy Blue

The true star of the show and the name behind the company, Bello is the muse of Blue Magnolia.

 

His love towards his family, other pups, and strangers was one of a kind, and that's something that needs to be experienced by all. Blue Magnolia is a dedication to our baby boy, Bello whose love of cheese and fresh flowers goes without saying. 

Nicknamed 'Boy Blue' for his love of the color blue and always smelling fresh flowers in the garden, Bello's legacy of love, and admiration of cheese lives on and is spread to all of Blue Magnolia's customers.
